Enrollment & AEP

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Private insurance companies that have a contract with Medicare to manage and administer your Medicare benefits for you. Health plans often included hospital, medical, and typically include prescription drug coverage (MAPD) into one convenient health plan. They may also include extra benefits like routine dental, vision, hearing, and fitness memberships.

  • May have lower monthly premiums.
  • Often includes extra benefits not covered by Original Medicare.
  • Requires you to use a network of doctors and hospitals.
  • A single, all-in-one plan.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

A Medicare Supplement insurance policy helps pay some of the healthcare costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. It works with Original Medicare (Parts A & B) and helps fill the "gaps" in your coverage.

  • Helps cover out-of-pocket costs with Original Medicare.
  • Lets you see any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare.
  • No need for referrals to see specialists.
  • Does not include prescription drug coverage (Part D is needed).

PLEASE NOTE: Medicare Supplement insurance is available to those age 65 and older enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B and, in some states, to those under age 65 eligible for Medicare due to disability or End-Stage Renal disease. Medicare Supplement insurance plans are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program.

Part D (Prescription Drug Plans)

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans add prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare, some Medicare Cost Plans, and some Medicare Private Fee-for-Service Plans. Each plan has its own formulary (list of covered drugs), so finding the right plan is crucial to save on medication costs.

  • Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs.
  • Plans vary based on cost and drugs covered.
  • Standalone plans to supplement Original Medicare.
  • Available from private insurance companies.

Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)

The AEP runs from October 15th to December 7th. This is your chance to review your current Medicare plan and make changes. Whether you're switching from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan, changing Part D plans, or adding a medicare supplement, we can help you navigate this important enrollment period to ensure you have the most suitable coverage for the new year.
